What is playing the bass clarinet like?
I'm thinking of starting the bass clarinet, next year. Is it any harder than a normal clarinet and is it heavy? What are the differences and any tips? Also, is the music the same? thanks
Transposing a melody in E major for a bass clarinet?
So I have a piece of melody that is in E major, and I have to transpose it for a bass clarinet to play. From my understanding, a bass clarinet sounds M9 intervals down from the original note, so therefore the whole piece in E major would sound like a D major?Now that I know the whole piece played by a bass clarinet sounds like a D major. And now I have to transpose it so the clarinet plays the original E major with its M9 down, so does that mean I have to raise the whole piece up M9 intervals higher? And if so, does the key signature turn into a F sharp major?Correct me if I got any concepts wrong, and please kind of go step by step? Thank you This homework is taking me forever.
Is orpheo or RSR a good brand of bass clarinet?
I saw a cheap orpheo bass clarinet low c and dident know if the brand was any good. it is american made though. and i saw a RSR bass clarinet low c and diddent know anything about them either
