What are some good vocal excercices for contralto?
i like to sing but i want to improve my voice, and not to damage my voice.
Am I a mezzo soprano/soprano or contralto?
Hey I am 19 years old, female and was wondering what voice type I am. I tested my voice range out on the piano used middle C as C4 and I can produce pitches anywhere from D3 A 6 but from D6 upwards I can't really " sing" it, it's more just like I can whistle it for a second or so. Anyway, the part where I sing the most and where my voice feels most comfortable is B3 G5 and the G5 is very easy to produce. I find it easy singing along to artists such as Hayley Williams, Christina Aguilera, Colbie Calliat and Demi Lovato. I want to adution for choir next week but what spot do you think I would most likely fill soprano1, soprano2, alto1 or alto2 ? I like singing more in the middle high rather than too low even though I can sing quite low.
What is a coloratura contralto?
I've heard this term before, but I have absolutely no idea what it means. Can someone please explain this? Thanks

I'm a 24 y/o fem. I have been told I have a contralto voice, which is rare. How do I know for sure?
I was told since my tone is rare, I should learn to train my voice. What's the best way to go about verifying this? I'm a student so I don't have much spare cash would classes at a local community college do? I've always wanted to take vocal lessons, I've just been too shy. Thanks in advance for your thoughts
Am I a mezzo with a developed low range or a contralto?
My usable vocal range, meaning I can hit these in a song, is D3 G5. In scales my range is C3 Bb5. My first transition is between E4 and F4. My second is between C5 and E5. That being said, I feel most comfortable singing between D3 Eb3 and B4. I am still working on smoothing out my bridge, so between C5 and Eb5, things get a little shaky, but from E5 my head voice is clear up to my G5. As far as tone goes, I usually have to lighten my voice a lot when singing with other altos. The closest comparison I can think of as far how I sound goes is Fiona Apple. Which would make me think I'm closer to a contralto, but I don't really know enough about the voice and the technical definitions to really determine that myself. Thanks for your help
Am I a mezzo-soprano or contralto? ?
I can sing from D3 the d below middle C to C6 2 octaves above middle C . What's my voice type? Do I have a good range? FYI, I sing the alto part in choir, I'm only 14, and I've never taken voice lessons. Oh, and I sing the lower notes more comfortably than the higher ones. The most comfortable notes, or the ones the I would just sing are from about F3 to F5 probably. I can still easily hit the other notes with very little strain. How am I doing?
Am i a mezzo-soprano or a contralto?
Okay, so my range is from Eb3 B5, i have read that some very rare contraltos go up to a Bb5, and i can go to a B5, so i'd say im a mezzo soprano, but then how come i can go that low? My tessitura is from C 4 C 5, tessitura is where your voice sounds best. And everything below A3 or Ab3 sounds unsopported and very breathy. And anything over C 5 has to be belted to sound good, and its strained. Also a friend of mine wants to know if she's mezzo or soprano, her range is from F 3 B5, and her tessitura is from D4 D5. So am i a mezzo or a contralto? Is my friend soprano or a mezzo, too?
What are some pop songs for an alto (contralto) to sing?
NO musicals, strictly radio hits. sadly. decent beautiful songs, that are simple to pull off, with some range but not too high. as many as you can think of. thanks oh and not necessarily Pop i suppose, R& B, folk and rock work too, as long as they can be sung a capella.
Question about a female singer (contralto)?
I was asked to be in a band by a bass player i play lead guitar , so we got together a rhythm guitarist, a drummer, and a vocalist. The bass player insisted on this girl and the rhythm guitar player agreed. But i'm a bit concerned when it comes to this girls ability to sing. We all tested our ranges because we wanted to do a song with backing vocals and we needed to know our ranges. The bass player is an 18yo bass C 2 B3 , the rhythm guitarist is a 17yo baritone G2 G 4 and has been in choir, and i'm a 17yo tenor A2 C5 , also in choir. We tested her range and she's a contralto but she has a very small range E3 A4 . Her high notes are very light and barely there at all. I'm concerned that as a rock band, we need a singer with a better range. The bass player got super defensive and pissy when he found out i thought that, but the drummer agrees with me. Her voice isn't terrible, but less than 1 1 2 octaves is a horrible range. Do any of you agree that we need a different singer?
I sing upto a high G. Can that make me a contralto?
