My flugelhorn 3rd valve keeps sticking?
Last year, I bought on impulse a somewhat old flugelhorn that was in very good condition for 300 dollars or so. I didn't have it for like a week and the 3rd valve keeps sticking. I keep taking it in, but the retard I don't think knows what he is doing. I oil it every time I use it, but it won't work. Got any suggestions? And if you are looking to buy a flugehorn that probably needs that valve replaced, let me know. Haha $250 dollars. Thanks in advance...

Slow Jazz Fanfare w/ Flugelhorn and Trombone Solo?
There was this piece I heard that sounded almost like a fanfare except with a jazz influence in it and rather slow. It started with just low tones in the low brass and seemed rather repetitive throughout. Rimshots provided a steady beat. Featured at least one jazz trombone solo and probably flugelhorn solo. I believe it was composed within the last 50 years. Flugelhorn tuning question?
I've been playing the trumpet for years so I'm not necessarily looking for how to play a flugelhorn, I want to know if anyone has tips for correctly tuning a flugelhorn. I know the tuning slide is up by the mouthpiece and I know how to tune it but does anyone have any tips on how to tune the valves with the small slides attached to the valve casings? Thanks.
Is the Flugelhorn played the same way as the trumpet?
I'm a 6th year trumpet player and I've always loved the sound of lower brass instruments. But instead of learning a new clef and instrument I thought it would be easier to play the flugelhorn. Is it the same as the trumpet? I know that it has the same fingerings but If I picked up a flugelhorn tomorrow would I be able to play it well?
