French horn/ mellophone songs?
i play these 2 instruments. what are some good songs to play on these?
Looking for good trumpet / mellophone mouthpieces.?
Hey all. I'm looking to try out different types of trumpet mouthpieces. I'm currently on a 7C and I know that I really don't want to use it anymore. I'm one of three trumpet majors at my school and I really want to get much better and I know that this could potentially be limiting. I currently have a 7C and a 5C. I experimented on the 5C but it was limiting my range for what I needed so I went back to the 7C. I prefer a darker tone, so please keep that in mind. I am playing first trumpet in our wind ensemble and also play in our pep band on the same part. I take lessons, too with soloistic, mostly lyrical songs. Also, if you know anything about mellophone mouthpieces, please let me know. I play that in the pep band and nothing else obviously .Thanks for your help

Does the mellophone have the same fingerings as the trumpet?
I'm a vet from a drum corps, next year, I'm trying out for another. I want to also tryout for mello if it gives me a better chance. i'm used to playing lead trumpet, so when I get the audition music, should I be able to play using trumpet fingerings?
Is it easy to switch to mellophone?
I play the clarinet in wind ensemble and saxophone in marching band. I really want to play a brass instrument in marching band next year. I am really leaning towards learning mellophone, but I am considering trumpet as well. What would be better for me and why?
Would learning mellophone help me with french horn playing?
simple yes or no...
Is it easy to switch to mellophone or French horn?
I currently have played clarinet for four years and am really good at it. My band is lacking mellophone and French horn players for the 2009 2010 marching season, as both of the players are seniors this year. So, my band director has asked for anyone to step up and play, and I have always found the mellophone to be interesting. I don't necessarily have to play because the director said he would get some willing rookies next year to play, but he needs a section leader. I would like to try for the position, but I need to know if it would be easy to learn to play the mellophone if you play clarinet.
What are some good mellophone solo pieces?
Difference between French Horn and Mellophone is?
OKay, so I'm learning Mellophone French horn. Now, I know the obvious difference I'm very musical but I'm switching from Clarinet to this brass instrument for marching season. Now, I want to take lessons so I can be awesome when I go to band camp. So, when I ask for lessons, do I ask for mellophone lessons? I'm kind of confused what to ask for, and I'm also wondering if I ask for mellophone lessons specifically which is what I'm thinking is the deal , what is the chance that they'll have them? For example, if they have French Horn lessons they have Mellophone lessons. Another curiosity, is the fingering the same? And the last question I have, if you're interested in answering it, is how do I stop the whole blaring thing. I play a note, nice a clear, then I stop and it just sounds like... ew. lol. Thanks for your help
