Am I a mezzo soprano/soprano or contralto?
Hey I am 19 years old, female and was wondering what voice type I am. I tested my voice range out on the piano used middle C as C4 and I can produce pitches anywhere from D3 A 6 but from D6 upwards I can't really " sing" it, it's more just like I can whistle it for a second or so. Anyway, the part where I sing the most and where my voice feels most comfortable is B3 G5 and the G5 is very easy to produce. I find it easy singing along to artists such as Hayley Williams, Christina Aguilera, Colbie Calliat and Demi Lovato. I want to adution for choir next week but what spot do you think I would most likely fill soprano1, soprano2, alto1 or alto2 ? I like singing more in the middle high rather than too low even though I can sing quite low.
What genre of music should a person with a mezzo soprano(or medium) female voice sing?
My singing voice is also loud.i can also grunt while singing. Some songs i am good at singing are stereo hearts, if i die young and viva la vida.i do not like bubble gum pop and my voice does not suit bubble gum pop like Britney Spears.

Classical songs for second/mezzo soprano?
I am going to be applying to be a vocal major at my high school in June, and I have to sing two songs, one classical. I don't listen to classical music much, so I don't know any songs. As I said above, I am a second or mezzo soprano. I'm not sure what my full range is, I'm unable to test it as I'm sick, but my highest semi comfortable note is a high G. I need songs that I can learn by June, preferably in English, and that can be accompanied by a piano. Please help Thanks.

Am I a mezzo soprano or a contralto?
Hi, I'm nearly 16 and have a hard time determining whether I am a mezzo or a contralto. I have never been in a choir, but interest in opera led me to do a little research in vocal exercises. I have always sung in my natural range which would be dubbed technically " appoggio" , or at least I think that's what it was called . My range without breaking falsetto is F3 the F bellow middle C to F4 the F just above middle C . My appoggio range is most natural and at its strongest particularly from A3 to E4. My middle C is the clearest note of all of them and I can really belt it.I get the impression I'm a mezzo, as contraltos are rare.

Am I a contralto or a mezzo-soprano? (video clips included)?
Hello After 6 or even more years of not singing and never having actual vocal lessons, I decided to participate in a provincial karaoke competition and somehow got to the regional finals most probably due to my great performance aspect ,. It really has inspired me to continue on singing and developing my voice and style. Soon I will be taking lessons, once I earn enough money for them. But, for the time being I am interested in what any of you think my voice type is? Especially teachers Just for fun.. I actually have no idea what it is. I can sing in higher ranges than the songs in the videos below, but my lowest register seems to be the most impressive. Am I mezzo soprano or a contralto? I must be either a dramatic mezzo soprano or lyric contralto.. My range seems to be E3 F5.Here are some videos from the karaoke competition going from the first round to later round, and thus going from worst to best haha . Please see them all because you'll see progression from forcing my voice a little too much to becoming more smooth though I still have a LOT of work to do .youtube.com watch?v vmm3WEqqfCg& feature relmfu Hey Big Spender youtube.com watch?v zVoUDy6L6jI House of the Rising Sun youtube.com watch?v MXDkAGSZtv0 Back to Black Winehouse youtube.com watch?v 0m09jQAZRPM& feature relmfu Spider's Web Katie Melua youtube.com watch?v wsc5x1RWQSA& feature relmfu Back to Black again for the finals
Beginning mezzo-soprano books?
I would like to get some vocal books in the mezzo soprano range . We can't really afford to get a teacher at this point, and, yes, I know this is probably a bad idea, but I'd like to start to teach myself. Do you know of any good books to start me off?
I am auditioning for The Voice in a month, what are some good (not over done) songs for a mezzo-soprano?
I am going to audition for The TV show, The Voice in a month, I am preparing a total of 5 songs, and I was looking for a good variety. I am a mezzo soprano, w a bluesy voice. I am looking for modern and older songs, I am already practicing " I'd Rather Go Blind" Etta James... anything helps
Roles, Arias, and songs for classical lyric mezzo-soprano?
I've been training in opera since I was about 11 and I'm 18 now. A few roles I have already done are Azucena in Il Trovatore lots of old makeup lol The Composer in Ariadne auf Naxos A trouser role Nicklausse in Les contes d'Hoffmann another trouser role Siebel in Faust yet again, another trouser role and Charlotte in Werther the only role where I wasn't a trouser or an old lady I can sing comfortably from an F3 to an A5. my highest coloratura note being a B5 My voice teacher says my chest voice isn't are rich and warm as a dramatic mezzo, but it's there and it's quite nice, while my higher range is light but strong, with very few coloratura notes besides the coloratura notes in " Una Voce Poca Fa" which took me a while to learn, but I got it after a month or so without struggle, and sung it at a variety show, but anything higher than those notes and I crack. It's obvious I couldn't sing Bell Song or Magic Flute lol Una Voce Poca Fa is normally for mezzo sopranos am I correct? I've heard arrangements done for sopranos as well, though my arrangement was very slightly lower.I'm looking for other arias to learn in my free time, and I'd also like some...well, not modern pieces, but operatic style songs that are stand alone pieces without the attachment of an opera, if possible?French is my first language, so French arias are especially appreciated.
