How to hook up percussion instruments with a DJ set?
i have a dj set and i am using a NUMARK DJ NS7FX and i have two samson powered speakers alongside with it, and i wanted to hook up my tabla drums, doumbek, etc, these are middle eastern drums, but anyways i wanted to know what i need in order to have this set up successfully, i know you need microphones but that's pretty much it..........

Guitarists and bassists tend to like to move around a lot while playing. Even if they don't, they still can. A keyboardist can as well, if they happen to be using a keytar. But what about the backbone of the band, the drummer? I've seen one of the ladies in the B 52s using bongos, and I heard a tambourine in the background of Hall & Oates' " Rich Girl$" , but I know that can't be it. So what else is there? For the record, the Zendrum doesn't count. It's technically a drum kit, but in synthesizer form.Oh, and a second question What's that black punching bag shaped thinger that Roger Taylor plays in the music video for " The Invisible Man" ?

Good portable percussion instruments?
Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows of some good percussion instruments that are portable. Right now, I know about the Spoons, and Bongos, but I was wondering if someone else had any ideas. This would mainly be for a possible camping trip that I'm going on, someone said that they might bring a guitar for campfire songs so I figured I might as well bring something as well, though I'm certainly not asking for instruments that would be good for only campfire songs. Also, a few nights ago, I went contra dancing, and one of the bands members had what looked like a regular bowl, and he was playing it as a sort of drum with brushes. Does anyone know what instrument this is, or is it just a regular bowl? Thanks.

In my Music GCSE i have been told as im a percussion player i should find out what instruments i could use for composing. It will have 4 variations and a coda. The key is written in C Major. Variation 1 is written in F major A minor, Variation 2 is written in C major, 3rd variation is in G major and 4 and coda is in C major. Please help me.Thanks in advance
