Drumkit crash/ride cymbal question?
My drum kit already has one 16 in. cymbal, now I want a second one. Do you folks recommend a bigger or smaller one? what size?
What's a good small, washy ride cymbal?
I'm looking for a ride cymbal that's 18 20" preferably smaller that has a lot of wash to it. It doesn't have to have a bell, so a flat ride would do since I'm planing on putting a rattler on it to imitate a sizzle cymbal.
I need suggestions or advice for a ride cymbal.?
I'm looking for a cheaper inexpensive ride cymbal for my drum kit. I like the one I used back in high school, but that was a 20" Zildjian Orchestral Selection suspended cymbal. It had a strong, clear sounding bell, nice full sounding ride, great cymbal roll, and nice crash. I would love to get one, but I don't have the liberty of spending $300 on a cymbal right now. As for the style of music I play, I'm trying to learn and play all types of styles, but mainly play at church. If anyone knows a cheaper alternative, that would be great. I have matured past the close minded mentality of judging a cymbal based of a brand i.e. Zildjian and Sabian junkies , so I'm open to all companies and brands. Thanks for any help in advance.
How can I make my crash/ride cymbal sound better?
I have an 18 inch Sabian crash ride and it sounds kinda wet. How can I make it sound a little more dry with no without an after tone?
Would Metallica songs be better if Lars used his ride cymbal more?
I'm mainly talking about Master of Puppets and beyond. Lars did use his ride cymbal in Kill Em' All and Ride the Lightning. I'm just wondering why Lars gave his ride cymbal up on later albums. Imagine if he used his ride as equally as he used his hi hat. Imagine what songs like " Battery" , " Dyers Eve" , " Enter Sandman" , " or " That Was Just Your Life" would sound like with more ride cymbal.

Carter Beauford's ride cymbal?
I know Carter likes to use the A Custom Projection Ride. But in the DVD VHS of " Under the Table and Drumming" , he uses either a K or K Custom ride. Ride cymbal flipped?! :(?
My dumb friends flipped my 20" Sabian ride cymbal, and I can't for the life of me flip it back. Is there any way to do this with one or two people?Thanks for any help This cymbal is pretty heavy, and I had my 250 pound friend try and stand on it and flip it, and that didn't work
Ride cymbal question?
I bought a ride cymbal a while back for my drum set and it doesn't sound right exactly. It's an off brand, el cheapo cymbal. It makes a very loud, long ping sound. I know ride cymbals are supposed to make a ping sound but this one is very loud and it doesn't sound good at all. If I tighten it up will that help it or any other suggestions? It's an 18''.
Question about Ride Cymbals.?
I've been using a Zlidjian ZHT rock ride cymbal on my drum set for a while now. Mostly playing rock hard rock It's worked great as a ride cymbal but a lot of songs I wish to cover have a main riff of forgive me if the term is incorrect " crashing" on the ride cymbal, or hitting it with an accent as you would with a crash cymbal. However, my ZHT makes a horrible noise when I play it that way and obviously does not fit well with the song. What are some other types of ride cymbals that you can " crash" on that sound good when you do so?
