What are some small, cheap instruments like the slide whistle?
I like fooling around with small, cheap instruments like harmonicas, slide whistles, kazoos, etc. I have an ukulele, wooden flute, and recorder, though they aren't as small as the others I described.I know of the ocarina, thumb piano, and glockenspiel.It should be something I can play actual notes with, not just a one note thing or a sound making thing like maracas or hand cymbals.What part of " small" do you not get?

There is a cut away gag joke reference in a Family Guy episode about a girl who can only express herself using her slide whistle. In the scene she is with a man who wants to make love she slides up her whistle excitedly off camera he asks, " What do you think of me naked" ? To which she slides down her whistle disappointedly I think it is a reference to the movie Nell, but am unsure. I also believe the episode is pre cancelation pre 2001 .
