I'm trying to see what the highest note I can sing at this point is, and i'm a 2nd soprano. I know for a fact that I can't hit Mariah Carey notes and I can't hit Beyonce's extremely high notes in Halo though I can get though the chorus ok. But I can in fact hit all of Lady Gaga's notes. Don't get me wrong, I know the notes when playing the flute or violin, but I don't know them in singing. People like Neyo and Michael Jackson, I can hit their notes, I just go higher when they sing extremely low. And yes i'm a girl, and i'm 14.

I have a light soprano voice, will a microphone help?
I'm doing a talent show at my high school. I'm doing the song 'let it be' and i think it's a fairly easy song to sing because it's very soft. I'm a soprano and my voice is very light especially when i sing. When i sing with the CD instrumental on full blast, i can barely hear myself. I know i'll have a microphone but i'm afraid no one will hear me over the music so does the microphone help?
Am I a mezzo soprano or a regular soprano?
Obviously, you cant hear my voice so Ill describe the situation. My vocal range is from the E below middle C, to the E above high C on the ledger lines The chorus teacher splits us up into Sop1 and Sop2 mezzo sop and Im always put on soprano 2. However, the soprano 1's in my class ALWAYS have trouble hitting the high notes, when I can hit them with ease. I always wonder why she puts me on the lower notes, when i can hit the higher ones so easy. Am I stronger at mezzo soprano? I know im not bad at soprano 1 because i got a solo in that vocal range. What do you think?

Hello After 6 or even more years of not singing and never having actual vocal lessons, I decided to participate in a provincial karaoke competition and somehow got to the regional finals most probably due to my great performance aspect ,. It really has inspired me to continue on singing and developing my voice and style. Soon I will be taking lessons, once I earn enough money for them. But, for the time being I am interested in what any of you think my voice type is? Especially teachers Just for fun.. I actually have no idea what it is. I can sing in higher ranges than the songs in the videos below, but my lowest register seems to be the most impressive. Am I mezzo soprano or a contralto? I must be either a dramatic mezzo soprano or lyric contralto.. When I say semi soprano, I mean a bit low for soprano but a bit high for alto. maybe I should do harmonies? Any ideas?
