Is All-Fourths tuning good for a 6-string lap steel guitar?
I have a lap steel guitar from Rogue, and I already have it tuned to All Fourths E A D G C F . It works fine, but I just wanted to know if this is a proper tuning method.
Is there a difference between guitar tabs and steel guitar tabs?
i'm currently teaching myself to play the lap steel guitar a six string but i've never played a regular guitar. i already have a musical background i also play piano so i'm catching on fairly quickly. i've been searching online for sheet music but i need some help. since i've never played a regular guitar i was wondering, what is the difference between guitar tabs and steel guitar tabs? can i buy just any old guitar book and be able to use it to play my steel guitar? when i type in " lap steel guitar" on amazon i get all kinds of books and some of the descriptions don't say anything about them being made just for steel guitars. hopefully someone out there can help me out.
How to clean steel guitar strings?
My strings are getting dirty but not like changing into a different copper color. They're getting a weird green thing that's hanging off the string. I have elixir strings on the guitar and I think that it's the protective coat that's coming off but I don't know to really clean it off. These are acoustic strings and I've had these strings on for about 6 months.Help please? Thank you.I really don't wanna change my strings either because I love the sound of warm strings then bright new strings and I know that I can buy strings that are warm but I like my strings when they've been used alot.
