I'm looking for any old band instruments?
I'm looking to take any old, super old, gross, disgusting, falling apart, sitting in the back of a closet or attic collecting dust instruments off your hands. Preferably, I will take flutes, piccolos, clarinets, trumpets, saxophones, and trombones, but if you have any unique ones such as a bugle, soprano sax, or french horn of some kind, I'll gladly take it. I'm planning on cleaning them up and making them into lamps as a hobby.The instruments don't have to have cases or be in playing condition in any way.. or even have all the pieces for that matter lolDoes anyone know any sites where I might get them for super cheap like 5 10 bucks besides ebay?
What combination of band instruments sounds most like/would fit the style of a string orchestra?
I'm arranging a piece written for an orchestra for concert band, and I've seen this done before, but I can't quite figure it out for myself. All help is greatly appreciated This is for a Symphonic Concert Band, not a rock band haha.
Does anyone do rent to own guitars like they do band instruments?
My wife recently started to rent to own a trumpet, and we were looking at getting me a new guitar. Do any of the major rent to own places do guitars in addition to band instruments?

What's your say on off-brand, cheap band instruments?
I remembered shopping at Walmart at the beginning of 6th grade and I saw a pile of band instruments on sale. Those are flutes, B flat clarinets, and trumpets three kinds of the most common band instruments. I wanted to buy one of the clarinets so I can be prepared ahead of time for band class, but seeing the price on it about $260 at the time made me reconsider.Fast forward a few years ago and I rediscovered that memory. Not only the price deterred me from buying it, but it was a decrepit prone to malfunctioning and falling off keys instrument. A proper term for that would be " instrument shaped object," or ISO. That's why my parents invested in rent to own clarinets.So if you are shopping in a big box store like Walmart and eyed band instruments for sale, would you buy one of them? Would you do so likewise when shopping online? If you happened to buy one of them, what were your experiences like and how satisfied or dissatisfied rather knowing the quality of the instruments all too well were you. If you are a band student or a parent of one, a music teacher, or a music store employee, mention it in your answer.
