How could I learn the hammered dulcimer?
I'm 15, and one of my favorite instruments is the hammered dulcimer, and I'd just love to learn how to play it. I haven't done too much research, though, and I know it's not a very common instrument. So what would be good to start out with? Where can I buy them? Should I try to search for the nearest place that offers lessons, or is it possible to teach myself through books or videos?
Would I score more chicks if I could play "Birdland" on the hammered dulcimer?

Tonight meaning the American Idols final May 20 09 . I loved the sound of that and someone was saying it was a dulcimer. Is that correct? If not what was it or what other instrument could it have been? It sat in front of her and she seemed to have finger picks and was strumming with both hands. Thanks for your help.
