Age of my beckwith upright player piano and possible value?
Can anyone help me with the history of a player piano from its serial number?
I believe the serial number is 14500. I am interested in purchasing this piano but it is from an auction house. I would like to know how old it is and its value so that I can make the right decision on how much I am willing to pay. I would appreciate any information at all as to where I can find these answers or even the answers them selves if someone knows. Thank you.I am waiting for a call back about how accurate that serial number is. In my research so far it seems like it might be missing a number. I have old player piano rolls, where can I find out how much they're worth?

Hello, I'm a MIDI sequencer who composes orchestral scores and piano roll arrangements through the MIDI file format. I'm just wondering if anybody know if I make the volume of a note lower, the player piano I load it on will make the hammers in the piano hit strings for those particular notes softer. I don't mean the entire song, just individual notes. Thanks

This player piano is very old, but unfortunately I am unsure of the year. I also cannot figure out what kind of piano it is. It says Lansing New York in 2 different areas of the piano. It is an upright player piano I would guess between 1920's and 1930's. I also have about 125 scrolls in great condition from the 20's and 30's. Any help or info would be great. Thanks

Ok answers, I need people that can either appraise or someone who has purchased an item such as this. Unfortunately it is terribly heavy and I can't seem to locate a serial number, which I'm assuming is on the back? Because I have checked the soundboard and the area where the label is and can't find it yet. Yet being the main goal. Where should it be? a side question Alrighty, it's a player piano. Made by Hobart m cable. The label detail is ornate and immaculate. I'm an avid musician and I play a little piano but im a percussionist and a guitar player and I've been operating a recording studio for 6 years. I do know music and instruments alike, however piano is not my expertise. Hobart m cable I know they were out of Indiana. I know that they made a lot of pianos and that an Asian company now uses the name? So I've read anyways, it's says 1903 on it and it is an amazing PLAYABLE shape. All it needs is to be tuned properly and maybe a light restore on the finish to make it look showroom, unless that would devalue the instrument. There are no chips, very little scratches, no dents or breaks in the body. The ivory keys have gained a yellow tint on some of them and all of the keys play, therefore all the strings are intact. In need of tune and light light LIGHT restoration, it was purchased in the 40s by my grandparents for 200 to 300 dollars, they told me. They both play, as does my mom who learned on it. I know the market for these types of instruments isn't too high but I'm looking for good advice or the confidence to actually have it appraised. It's a beautiful piano and the petals and the scroll work well and it still therefore plays. I also have music on scrolls for it to play on its own Which is so neat, though I know it's pretty common. It's just cool. I've researched quite extensively and I've seen them being sold as well bought for prices from 300 bucks all the way up 9,000 ?
