Tone arm weight on old record player?
i am not a dj and all the videos to do this are for dj equpment i have a bsr fidelity from the 70s i think with the needle st12 it has a little spring under the arm if i remove the spring it gets very heave on the needle end is there any videos people can post for me regarding vintage turntables from this era or just tell me how to do it thanks

What is best for first time record player owner?
Recently I have been getting a lot into older music and bands and I've found that it's hard to find the music I want on CDs because the music im listening to is just so old and some is just quite unheard of, and I also thought it would just be fun to get into records and start listening to the piles among piles of vinyl my mom has in her closet as well. My mom has two turntables, but they aren't really in working order. I figured since I have some Christmas money, I should just go ahead and get a record player myself. I am looking for one that has built in speakers and is under 100 dollars $70 is like ideal for me although I'm willing to go a bit over if really seems like a good product. I'm also looking for something that has good sound quality and maybe goes rather loud in volume I have never ever used a record player before i'm 14 so could someone please suggest one that would be suitable ? thanks

My mom had this really big piece of wooden furniture when I was growing up that had an 8 track, and a radio , and a record player inside it when u opened up the lid. This thing was pretty big i remember ans had like a wooden lattice design in front of the speaker on the front of the box...sorry this is all the info i have, my memory of this is when I was 11. Why does my record player needle squeak?
hello i have an old bsr fidelity record player which i recently bought a new needle for because the original one made the vinyls sound a little distorted the distortion isn't as crackly but on some records the needle squeaks when im playing them and it is really starting to get on me except if i give the record a good showering in record cleaner it doesn't it isnt scratching the record as the needle goes along its not a scratching sound it just squeaks can you help?

How do you fix a record player?
The little needle at the end just fell off, should I take it to someone? Any suggestions on how to fix it myself?
Did I just ruin the needle on my new record player?
I literally just got a record player, and accidentally started the turntable before I was able to get the record on, so the needle played on the mat for a few seconds before stopping it. I then played several records on the player and there is a near constant popping and cracking on them. Granted, these records have been sitting on a shelf for about 10 15 years. So, is my needle safe and the records just need to be cleaned, or is my needle messed up and needs to be replacedI do see a tiny bit of white stuff on the tip of the stylus, which I assume is a piece of the mat.
